Stop Buying too Many Prints

If you are looking for a way to cut your monthly copier costs then you may want to consider how many prints you are buying every month. Most people spend way too much on prints every month and they aren’t even aware of it. We want to help you see why this happens and help you to stop buying too many prints.25

What usually happens is that people have an idea of how many prints that they want, but get talked into buying more from their sales person. They are told that it costs more per print if they need to add more in the middle of the month, so they might as well buy some extra to avoid that cost. They make it sound like buying more “just in case” is kind of like buying insurance. You might be paying every month but once you need it you will be glad that you have it.

However, this is not how it works out in the real world.

For example, you think you need 25,000 prints per month, but your leasing agent says you should get 30,000 just in case. They will even give you a discount on the prints. It may sound like a good deal until you do the math.

25,000 prints x $.015 per print = $375 per month

30,000 prints x $.014 per print = $420 per month.

You are spending an extra $45 per month on insurance. However, you will likely never use those extra prints. You are basically throwing $45 away every month, where you might be paying $10 for the extra prints that you actually needed.

Stop buying too many prints. This is one of the best ways to cut down your prices on spending every month. Going with a more conservative estimate is almost always the way to go.
